Laoshan Tickets 2026: Prices, Routes & Which Pass to Buy

Every Laoshan ticket type compared for 2026 — the $13.50 Yangkou line, the $19.50 Taiqing ticket, the 3-day all-access pass, cableway add-ons and the 15:30 / 16:30 deadlines that ruin afternoons.

Laoshan Tickets 2026: Prices, Routes & Which Pass to Buy

Laoshan does not sell one ticket — it sells a small map of decisions. Three directions (Taiqing, Yangkou, Jufeng), three gates, cableways sold apart from admission, and a 3-day pass that quietly beats everything if you are staying two days. We buy these tickets several times a year for ourselves and for readers, and this guide covers everything an international traveler needs for 2026: every ticket type with current prices, the line-by-line comparison, step-by-step booking and the deadline mistakes that cost people their day on the mountain.

Key takeaways

  • Cheapest admission: the Yangkou line ticket at US$13.50 — cableway rides are sold separately from US$5.25.
  • Best for the classic day: the Taiqing-direction combined ticket (US$19.50) covering Taiqing Palace and the coastal southern line.
  • Best for 2 days: the all-access pass (US$31.50, valid 3 days) — cheaper than buying two line tickets.
  • Children 6 & under (or under 1.4 m) enter free but must be registered on the booking.
  • Two deadlines: tickets stop selling at 15:30 and final admission is 16:30 — earlier than the 17:30 close.

Quick answer: for most international travelers the fastest route is booking through Trip.com — English interface, any foreign card, instant QR confirmation. The 2026 pricing table is below.

Every ticket type & price (2026)

The scenic area splits its 446 km² by direction rather than by a single gate: the coastal southern line sells a Taiqing-direction combined ticket and a Yangkou-direction ticket, the summit area stands apart, and the all-access pass wraps everything into one 3-day window. Here is the full 2026 menu as listed on Trip.com for international travelers:

Why is the Yangkou ticket the cheapest? It is a single-zone ticket — one gate, one valley, and arguably the best sea views per yuan on the mountain. The Taiqing ticket costs more because it stitches together the monastery, the coast road and several stops. Both are e-tickets: you book online, the QR code lands in your mail, and the gate scans you through.

Worth the add-on? If your knees have opinions, the admission + Yangkou cable car combo (US$18.75) is the best value on the mountain: the chairlift is half the fun of Yangkou, and buying it bundled beats queueing for a separate cableway ticket at the base station.

Which line should you buy?

This is the decision that shapes your whole visit. The three main plays, honestly compared:

  • Choose the Taiqing line (US$19.50) if it is your first visit and you want the full postcard run: 2,100-year-old Taiqing Palace, the coast road, Qingshan Fishing Village and — if you push east — Huayan Temple and Yangkou. One long day.
  • Choose the Yangkou line (US$13.50) if you are short on time, on budget, or returning: the cableway over the water, the giant Longevity character carved into the cliff and the squeeze through Mitian Cave. Half-day friendly.
  • Choose the all-access pass (US$31.50) if the mountain is your main Qingdao agenda: day one on the coast, day two at Jufeng or Beijiushui, and the ticket still has a day left in reserve.

Timing details — seasons, sunrise odds, crowd patterns — live in our best time to visit guide, and the hour-by-hour plans are in the itineraries guide.

Cableways: what costs extra

None of the line tickets include cable cars. The Yangkou one-way ride costs US$5.25 and has been booked more than 900,000 times on Trip.com alone — it is the most-bought add-on on the mountain for a reason: the views over the turquoise bay are the highlight reel. Jufeng’s cableway is bundled with its own entrance and sightseeing bus, and the Taiqing cableway suspends so often in wind that we tell readers to treat it as a bonus, not a plan.

Common blocker: cableways close in high wind and storms — one recent Trip.com reviewer arrived to find the funicular shut for the day. Check the hotline (+86-532-96616) before committing a plan to a ride, and keep a walking route in your pocket. Every zone works on foot.

Guided day tours

If you are a group of two to six without a car, the day tours change the math. From US$49.19 (private-charter versions run US$58–60), they bundle admission, door-to-door hotel pick-up in Qingdao, the circum-sea highway drive and stops like Qingshan Fishing Village — rated 4.9–5.0 across hundreds of reviews. Solo travelers with a metro map will do fine independently, but families consistently report the tours remove the two biggest frictions: parking and direction-choosing.

Step-by-step: booking your ticket

The whole flow takes about five minutes on any international phone:

  • Шаг 1. Open the Laoshan ticket page and select your date — sold-out dates are greyed out honestly.
  • Шаг 2. Pick your ticket line. Remember: the direction (Taiqing or Yangkou) must match the gate you actually enter, and Jufeng needs its own ticket.
  • Шаг 3. Enter every traveler’s details exactly as printed on the passport — children must be registered even for the free tier.
  • Шаг 4. Pay with any international card. The QR e-ticket lands in your e-mail within minutes.
  • Шаг 5. Screenshot the QR code as backup for weak signal in the valleys.

The two deadlines that ruin days

  • Tickets stop selling at 15:30 — the online window closes too, so an afternoon impulse buy at 16:00 is not a thing.
  • Final admission is 16:30 — even valid tickets stop scanning after that. The 17:30 closing time fools people every single week.
  • Start early regardless — the mountain rewards dawn: softer light, empty staircases, and tea fields before the mist burns off.
  • Holiday quotas sell out — Golden Week and summer weekends need bookings several days ahead.

From our visit: we once marched a group of readers to the Yangkou gate at 16:40 with perfectly valid morning-bought tickets — and watched the scanner reject every one of them. We salvaged the day on the coast road outside the gate, but the lesson is stamped into this site’s footer: admission ends 16:30. Plan backward from that number, not the closing time.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to print my ticket?

No. Every partner ticket is fully digital — show the QR code on your phone at the gate. Keep a screenshot as a backup for signal issues.

Can I change the date after booking?

Most partner tickets allow free cancellation or rescheduling up to 24 hours before entry, handled inside the app or via support chat. Peak-season promo fares can carry stricter rules — check the cancellation line on your exact ticket.

Is the Jufeng summit included in the coastal tickets?

No — Jufeng uses its own entrance, sightseeing bus and cableway, sold as a separate zone. If the sunrise is your goal, the all-access pass plus a summit bus ticket is the cleanest setup.

Are prices per person?

Yes — each adult ticket covers one visitor; children 6 & under (or under 1.4 m) ride free but must be listed. Day tours price per person with group-size brackets (2–6 people for private charters).

Which ticket did you buy last time?

The Taiqing combined ticket on our spring recon trip (tea season), and the Yangkou ticket + cable car combo when we take first-time visitors who want maximum views for minimum walking. Both booked through Trip.com for the English checkout.
